Underground ADT Simulators
The productivity and safety track records of an underground mine are closely linked to the skill and proficiency levels of its underground truck operators.
For the past several decades, Articulated Dump Trucks (ADTs) have been used to profitably carry heavy loads of ore in underground mining operations. It is a known fact that poor ADT operator skills and habits can have a significant impact on safety and productivity in underground mining operations.
CYBERMINE Underground ADT Simulators are designed to provide an excellent ADT operator training and refresher system for Articulated Dump Truck operators in underground mining operations without removing productive vehicles from the operations cycle. Without doubt, skilled ADT operators increase productivity, lower operating costs and reduce safety violations.
The CYBERMINE Underground ADT Simulator range simulates heavy equipment from all major manufacturers such as Atlas Copco, Caterpillar (CAT), Joy, Sandvik and Trident.
“On simulators we can cost-effectively train our operators for everything they might encounter underground, from routine procedures to emergency scenarios.”
Accurate Vehicle Replication
The CYBERMINE Underground ADT Simulator operator is immersed in a highly realistic, operating, 3D simulated mine world, projected on three wide screen displays located about the ADT operator’s cab. The entire dump truck cab is replicated to original equipment manufacturer specifications ensuring all controls and instruments are correctly located about the ADT operator.
Virtual Mine Worlds
Trainee operators are immersed in an extensive high-fidelity 3D mine world based on a typical mining operation complete with tunnels, loading points, chutes, dumping areas and other essential features typically encountered underground. Artificially intelligent vehicles and miners may be activated and interacted with during an exercise in support of the underground truck training and evaluation process. World specific parameters and interactive events can be varied for a broader ADT operator experience, such as rock slides or rubble spillages.
Actual client underground 3D mine sites are accurately modelled on request, including own operating procedures, artificially intelligent client mining equipment, load and haul routes and other areas required to impart training objectives.
Training and Evaluation Tools
The CYBERMINE Underground ADT Simulator system continually monitors and records the ADT operator’s performance, in terms of cycle times, processed tonnage, adherence to safety procedures, correct equipment handling techniques and response to emergency situations and sub-system failures. These performance reports together with the instructor’s after-action review capability provide a complete underground mine truck operator training and evaluation system.
Highly efficient and effective training is therefore realised on the CYBERMINE ADT simulator with no loss of production and no danger of accidents, even in the most complex of emergency situations to which the ADT operator might be expected to respond.
